Hedvika Davis
Biomedical Sciences Ph.D. Candidate

Hedvika Davis was born in the Czech Republic. She is from Southern Bohemia, South of Praque, in the Czech Republic, that's where Budweiser beer is originally from. Hedvika completed a B.S. in Animal Studies in the Czech Republic and then completed a Master's degree in Molecular Biology. She liked it so much, that she decided to pursue a Ph.D. in Biomolecular Sciences. "I had been living in Orlando for awhile and I became very interested in stem cell research. I work with Dr James Hickman working with stem cells from umbilical cords. I hope to be finished soon, in about 1 year, all my classes are all completed, and I am just finishing up my research project. After I finish my Ph.D., I would like to complete a postdoc and then secure an academic position in the U.S. or in Europe. I love Orlando, I love that I am close to 2 oceans, Cocoa Beach and the Atlantic Ocean on the East coast, and the Gulf of Mexico on the West coast. In my spare time I do diving, I like traveling and animals".
