Gabriel Gonzalez
Physics Ph.D. Candidate
Gabriel Gonzalez was born in Guadalajara, Mexico, on 4 March 1977. He studied at the state University of Guadalajara, where he obtained his B.S. and M.S. in physics in 2003. After being a part time Professor of Physics and Mathematics for two years at ITESO University he joined the Physics Ph.D. program at the University of Central Florida. At present he is a Physics Ph.D. candidate working for Dr. Michael N. Leuenberger at the NanoScience Technology Center. The focus of Gabriel's work is electron transport through single-molecule magnet transistors.
"I started my first year in UCF as a teaching assistant in the Physics department and then met my advisor and moved to the NanoScience Center as a research assistant where I am currently doing research in the physics of single-electron transistors with molecular nanomagnets. I feel very lucky to be working at the NanoScience Technology Center because it is a place with a great research atmosphere and where you will come into contact with state-of-the-art technology."
Gabriel's research interests are in the area of theoretical condensed matter physics and electronic properties of nanostructures. Upon completing his doctorate, Gabriel would like to continue doing research and teaching in a prominent University.
