SMART Scholarship-for-Service Program
Undergraduate and graduate students may apply to the SMART Scholarship for Service Program. The application deadline is December 15, 2009 for Fall 2010. Applications must be submitted online at www.asee.org/smart. The highly-selective and prestigious national program fully supports the education of selected candidates, including full tuition and generous stipend in the range of $25,000 annually for undergraduates and $41,000 for doctoral candidates while they are in school. The award also includes a book allowance of $1,000 per year, health insurance, summer internships, and travel fees for internships. Students must be U.S. Citizens, able to obtain a DoD Security Clearance, and willing to work in a defense laboratory upon graduation. There will be approximately 300 new awards this year.
